Yesterday I accomplished a goal that 6 months ago seemed completely impossible. I signed up for a 10k race with my dad and finished it in 1 hour 3 minutes 30 seconds. That’s about a minute and a half better than what I normally do on a 10k run, so I’m really happy with the results.
In reality the time I did is really slow, but considering that I’ve been slacking on my training for the past month, I did better than I thought. One set back I had was that my phone stopped working right before the race, so I wasn’t able to run with music! I’m so used to having my pumped up tunes playing that running in silence (relatively silent.. my dad is a talker lol) it was really hard to focus. I found myself getting frustrated and tired faster than I normally do when I have my headphones on. All in all it was a positive experience. I’m looking forward to running at my leisure without having too much of a focus on performance and doing lots of yin yoga!
